Sono trascorsi diecimila anni da quando le infide azioni del Caos posero fine all'età dell'oro dell'umanità. Nelle galassie divampano incendi che illuminano i massacri provocati dalla lotta tra l'uomo e i suoi antichi nemici. Eserciti temprati si scontrano all'unico scopo di annientare completamente i nemici. Relic Entertainment, sviluppatore del videogioco dell'anno, porta il gioco da tavolo di guerra più famoso del mondo su PC. Comanda una delle quattro razze disponibili in scontri testa a testa o in azioni cooperative multigiocatore in cui la fede, l'abilità e la strategia sono i requisiti necessari per governare l'universo.

Combattimenti corpo a corpo e a distanza di qualità cinematografica, che mostrano i dettagli della battaglia con un'accuratezza mai vista prima in un RTS.
Elementi strategici quali copertura, meccanica a squadre, morale ed eroi che portano in primo piano la tattica rispetto agli assalti di massa, senza tuttavia trascurare battaglie su larga scala.
Un'epica campagna per giocatore singolo con classici elementi narrativi quali tradimento e cospirazione.
Modalità multigiocatore per 2-8 utenti in LAN o in Internet che garantisce un'infinita rigiocabilità.
